Jinney Ring CharitiesIt always causes us difficulties when we are approached to give charitable donations or help run charity events ...... as there are so many worthy causes, more so when times are hard and people cut back spending in all areas. We would like to help everyone but it is sadly not possible.
Rather than spend the whole year with feelings of inadequacy, we choose 3 charities each year and support them in whatever appropriate way we can. This may be by raising funds for them at our events or just allowing them to collect funds themselves on site, or, perhaps by supporting them with events for their "customers".
If you would like us to consider your charity for help for next year or beyond please e-mail us with details.
Details of this years charities are found below. |
The Meningitis TrustThe Meningitis Trust UK has a single focus - to find a vaccine to protect against all forms of meningitis and associated diseases.
Meningitis is a nasty disease which can kill in under 4 hours.
In October we are supporting a "Toddle Waddle" to raise some funds for this charity. (This will be a walk for youngsters between the school and the Craft Centre)

The Guide Dogs for the BlindThis organisation is dedicated to providing dogs for blind and partially-sighted people to allow them to live a fuller life.
We have scheduled a fund raising event "Go Walkies" which will take place from the craft centre on April 1st. It should be a great day - come along and join us for a walk - if you have a dog, bring it along too for a lovely walk.

 | On the 22nd May the Jinney Ring was delighted to host a "Go Walkies event. This event was a 3 mile walk where, unusally, the dog was sponsored rather than the walker. All of our dogs were well up for it - despite the very windy day. See picture above with the BIG DOG Mascot - Paddy and a some of the windswept walkers!
The day was well supported and raised about £1400 for the charity.
From our point of view it was lovely to have such a well behaved bunch of canines here and it was a great day!! Thanks to everyone that came. |

The Redditch Carers CarelineThe Carers Careline is a local charity which is supporting those who do so much for others, quite often silently and with no choice.
We ran a charity "joke" event here on the 1st of April (April Fools day) and have an Easter raffle underway to win a large fluffy chick for Easter.
In June we are also hosting a fun day out for the carers and volunteers.
