Arkle plants are situated on the way into the main site as you walk from the main car park. Their array of beautiful plants and shrubs are enough to cheer your day before you start looking at anything else in the Centre, you can walk around the covered plant stall at your leisure and work out where the plants will fit in your garden.
Mike Evans who runs the unit with the help of his sister Jean Hubball (who doubles as the Jinney Ring gardener) are founts of knowledge when it comes to plants and can advise you on what will go where in your garden. They are also happy to source special items for you, so don't be afraid to ask.
Within the stand you will find frequently-varied varieties and displays to keep you interested.
High quality plants are specially chosen and include many unusual varieties that are carefully selected for our customers.
At Christmas Mike has a great range of Christmas trees and wreathes for your homes.
From time to time Mike also oganises showings of specific breeds - in 2006 he had the national collection of Penstemons here, it was such a great success he plans to hold another one next year. Earlier in 2008 he hld a fern and hosta week which was very popular. Watch the website for details.
